1) Present
progressive: You can use this time for
actions that are happening in the present.
Uses:

Action in progress:
is when an action started in the past but continues in present.

be in progress shortly: when you have previously information and that give you
a consequence and a cause.

process: when a fact is happening in a long period of time.

Future purposes: future
actions that will happen in a couple of

-Positive form: Subject + am, are, is+ verb (ING ending) + object
Eg: She is working at home today
-Negative form: Subject+ am, are, is + not
(isn’t-aren’t) +verb (ING ending) + object.
Eg: they aren’t dancing at the party
-Interrogative form: am, are, is+ subject+ verb(ING
ending) + object +?
Eg: Are you doing your homework?
2) Simple past: used this time when you want to refer to a simple past
action

3) Future will: you can use this time for things that you want to do in the
future.
v Factual predictions: when the predictions are based on facts
v General future inquiry: a question that something on the
future.
v Facts: when the possibilities are high

-Positive form: Subject + will + verb (based
form) + object
E.g: She will take the bus at 15:00 p.m.
-Negative form:
Subject + will NOT or Wont + verb (based form) + object
Eg: They won’t go to the party on Friday
-Interrogative form: Will + subject + verb (based
form) + object +? E.g:
Will
you stay at home at night?
4) Would and used to: You can used this time for past habits or past situations.
v Used to is always used
for any actions and habits in the past
-E.g: My dad used to
play football every Sunday
v With would we have to be careful in some
situations for example we need more information about something to use would.
Like in this situation
-Affirmative form: Subject + Used to/would + verb (base form) +
object.
Eg: I used to study every day in high school
-Negative form:
Subject + used to / would + Not + verb (base form) + object
Eg: He would not work on weekends for spend time with his
family
-Interrogative form: Did + subject + used to + verb
(based form) + object.
Eg: Did she used to has
a black car?
5) Future be going to: Use this
tense for future plans, you need a full intention to do something in the future
for use going to.
v Plans, when you plan something to do it in the future
v Prediction with high possibility
Structure:
-Affirmative form: Subject + Be: Am, are, is *Going to + verb (base form) + object.
Eg: I am going to
go on vacations on December.
-Negative form: Subject + be: am not/ are not
or aren’t/ is not or isn’t Going to + verb (based form) + object
Eg: They are not going to have class tomorrow
-Interrogative form: Be: am, are, is + Subject + going
to + verb (base form)+ object
Eg: Are you going to the Nicole’s party tonight?
